New England Weekend Weather: Summer-like Friday; Quiet Saturday, Sunday

New England's stretch of (mostly) quiet weather will continue through this weekend and into next week. The region's warming trend will continue through Friday before cooling back to more seasonable temperatures by Mother's Day. Here's a breakdown:

FRIDAY

Friday will feature summer-like weather, similar to Thursday. It will likely get a touch warmer than Thursday. There will also be slightly higher humidity, but certainly not to the levels of mid-summer humidity. Friday will feature another evening of isolated showers and thunderstorms.

With higher humidity, there is a slightly higher chance of more rumbles of thunder than Thursday will feature. Again, this will not be a widespread thunderstorm and/or rainy day, just a couple isolated pops. These showers and storms will be possible basically region-wide as they are being spawned by a very weak disturbance crosses the region. Temperatures will jump into the mid to even upper 80s in southern New England with the 70s to low 80s in northern New England.

SATURDAY

A cold front will cross the region Friday night and clear out by Saturday morning. This front will eliminate the humidity that built into the region on Friday. The front will be mainly dry, but a couple of isolated showers could pop while it passes, mainly in southern New England. The day will be breezy behind the front (gusts to 35mph will be possible, especially in the higher elevations of northern New England), but still rather warm. Highs could once again jump into the 80s in Connecticut and the 70s across much of the rest of southern and central New England, northern New England will likely top out in the mid to upper 60s.

Setup for Saturday, note the cold front that has cleared the region offshore:

SUNDAY - MOTHER'S DAY

It's going to be a dry and quiet Mother's Day. It will remain breezy, especially across northern New England, but conditions will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy and seasonable. Temperatures will be in the mid 60s to mid 70s region wide. There's not a whole lot to say about Sunday's weather, but I guess that's how we want it, especially on a holiday.

Sunday's weather, blissfully quiet across New England (and the east coast in general):
