The National Weather Service of Gray, Maine called this arctic blast "once in a generation". The Boston office stated that this blast was historic. This shot of cold air pushed temperatures just about as low as they can go here in New England. New Hampshire's all time low temperature record of -50°, set in 1885, was challenged, but it looks like that record will hold as Mt. Washington's temperature bottomed out at -47°. Boston saw it's coldest low in 66 years, when the temperature hit -10°. With that said, here are the lowest wind chill reports from this epic arctic blast:
